For me, it all began with the Piano. I remember being mesmerized and enchanted as my Mom played our family Wurlitzer piano. When I was 5, she took me to see The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews. I still remember the dress I wore! I couldn't wait to come home so I could try to play the wonderful music I heard on the piano!
I began studying music when I was 7 years old. Beginning with piano, I studied voice in my teens, then picked up guitar along the way.
Sharing my Passion
Sharing music with others is very special to me, which is why I love teaching music. It's who I am and what I do!
I teach Piano, Voice, and Beginner Guitar. I have students in Avon, Farmington, Simsbury, and Plainville. I teach in my music studio and in my clients' homes -- you choose!
It doesn't matter if you're a child or an adult learner. I feel it's never too late to learn how to play and express your inner artist, whether you want to be a classical musician or a rock star!
Why Study Music?
The academic advantages of studying music are well documented. Children who study music get higher SAT scores. It can teach you how to develop thinking skills. I really enjoy that music is a puzzle with infinite possibilities. The same notes, but all different ways to combine them.
When you study anything you love, it is a pursuit of excellence in skill and performance. Music opens up your creativity for unique expression, even with the classics or learning covers of your favorite artists.
Music takes a lot of hard work and discipline. But mostly, to me anyway ... It's just a whole lot of fun!
